My son is has autism and tests high for lead. It was imperative that we determine if he was getting on-going lead exposure from our home environment. After having our drinking water tested, we decided to test dishes, tables, toys, furniture, etc. just to be sure that we were moving toward a remedy and not making his condition worse.
Jeremy and Paul were just wonderful. They seem to have a personal interest in exposing lead and making homes as safe for children (and adults) as possible. They are very thorough, work efficiently, and offer suggestions about what to test.
We threw away all my Noritake china, several hand-made ceramic pieces, a set of toddler furniture, and misc. toys which all tested too high for me. The worst was the inflatable bounce castle. very high lead and simply not worth the risk. To me, this is a huge relief to know we are living safer, and my son is not getting additional lead exposure at home (Cynthia, Mother)

Jeremy was terrific. He went through our son, Nathan's, toys very systematically.
I did not ask Jeremy to test Nathan's furniture, but I guess he noticed the paint and thought it would be best. I forget the parts per million, but they were high. So, I am now looking for a new nightstand!
Needless to say, I'll be testing Nathan very soon.
I can't say enough good things about Jeremy's professionalism, kindness and thoroughness. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to have him in their home. Not only does the service provide a huge measure of relief; Jeremy also is a great educator of what to be concerned about.

I used these services to check all of our toys after being concerned with all of the recalls coming out in the news. Mr. Weir worked quickly and efficiently, testing literally hundreds of toys and books in one morning. He found lead (some fairly high levels) in a few books and toys. Strangely, the one toy I was certain was fine because it was made in Canada, actually came back positive for high lead levels. After I checked on the internet, sure enough, other people reported the same result with the same toy but it has not been recalled yet.
He also checked our dishes which although they were white with no decoration, also came back over 1,000 times above the legal limit. I contacted the manufacturer and they are working with me to refund the cost of my very new dishes.
So, I now am confident that my baby girl is playing with ALL lead free toys and eating out of lead free dishes. I think this service is invaluable and I will be using it periodically to do quick checks of new toys we buy throughout the year.
I've also recommended this to other parents and even my doctor's office requested his information since there really is no other way to be confident that your toys in your house are lead free.

I had been looking for 2 years for someone to come to our home and test for lead, but there was no one. Our son, who is 4, is recovering from autism and has tested high for lead and mercury. We could not figure out where the lead was coming from, and thought our toys were "safe", especially since some of them were ordered from a European website for natural toys. We even purchased special "safe" plastic balls (non-pvc) for my son's therapy ball pit at 5x the cost of the pvc ones, only to find out that the YELLOW ones (not blue or red) were loaded with lead and arsenic! Go figure.
The biggest shock of all was our Ralph Lauren everyday china that we have been using for almost 7 years, from our wedding registry. It tested very high in lead, and the kids eat off of it all day long! Ugh. Jeremy was so helpful, as I panicked about what new brand of dinnerware to get. He not only suggested several brands, but lead me to a specific one and even told me where I could find it. He was so very nice, and very genuinely interested in helping our family. I really felt at ease, and got some peace over the items in our home. Now if I could only control outside our home....what our neighbors are spraying, I would be set!!! :-)

Almost one year ago, I heard about Jeremy's service through a business conference. I immediately hired him to test all of the toys in my child care center. We discarded anything that contained lead. Since that time, new toy and equipment purchases are held until Jeremy comes for a quarterly inspection. After the toys are deemed lead-free, they are distributed to the classrooms.  I feel much more confident that I am providing a safe environment for the children in my care. Jeremy is fantastic! I am a first time home buyer and he came into the home to test for lead based paint or for other items that may contain lead before we purchased it. The entire home was good except for the tiles in the bathrooms- but now we know to have professionals remove the tile when we go to remodel the bathrooms.
